The opening of the monument was attended, as specified, by the special representative of the Russian leader for international cultural relations Mikhail Shvydkoy, chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexei Shaposhnikov, the daughter of the artist Natalya Rappoport and others.

The architect of the sculpture was Denis Bobylev, and the authorship of the monument belongs to Dmitry Klavsuts. 

Earlier it became known that a monument in honor of Vasily Lanovoy, Vladimir Etush and Yuri Yakovlev was opened near the Vakhtangov Theater in Moscow.
