On September 8, Wu Liangyou, deputy director of the National Health Commission’s Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, introduced at a press conference of the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism that key provinces with severe epidemics in the early stage have achieved phased results in epidemic prevention and control, and some parts of individual provinces have achieved initial results. The city epidemic is still developing.

The epidemic prevention and control in Hainan and Xinjiang has achieved remarkable results. The number of newly reported infections has continued to decline, and the epidemic has entered the final stage.

The epidemic situation in Tibet is showing a steady trend as a whole. The number of newly reported infections and the scope of infection have decreased, but the number of new infections per day is still high, and the epidemic situation is still severe.

The epidemic in Sichuan has slowed down recently, and the number of new infections in a single day has fluctuated down, but the risk of community transmission is still high. On September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, adding new difficulties to the handling of the epidemic.

In some areas of Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Tianjin, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Guangdong, Hubei, Beijing, Shanghai and other provinces, the epidemic situation has fluctuated in recent days, and there is a risk of community transmission.

The epidemics in other provinces mainly come from quarantine and control personnel, mainly imported from across regions, and the overall risk of local social transmission is small.
