The Castalia water park was inaugurated this Wednesday in Maurepas (Yvelines).

This 24.4 million euro complex includes five heated pools, a sauna, a hammam, a jacuzzi as well as a gym and yoga room.

Despite all these facilities, the consumption of this center would have been halved compared to that of the old swimming pool, indicates

.

While energy prices are soaring and many swimming pools are closing, the center has in fact been designed to avoid water wastage and energy loss.

The ceiling heights have been reduced and heat pumps will recover the calories from the pools to heat the other spaces.

The water will be collected and filtered.

Mayor DVD Grégory Garestier explained that the envelope allocated to this center would be the same as that of the old swimming pool.

The budget will be supplemented by the 730 subscriptions already taken out.

School fees are paid by the municipality.
