• From this Monday, September 5 at 6:50 p.m., W9 is offering a new reality TV event:

    Les Cinquante

    .

  • Through this game, fifty candidates will fight in a series of events to win and win a viewer through a dedicated application.

  • “Players have to put themselves in danger daily by passing games and creating alliances.

They are not in a large villa lounging around a swimming pool, ”assures producer Florence Fayard.

A logistical challenge at all levels.

This Monday, W9 innovates with the arrival of the

Fifty

on its antenna.

For the first time, the channel is launching into large-scale reality TV with five dozen competitors competing over the days to clinch victory.

Here, there are no secrets to keep, no tempters to succumb to, no job to do, but a series of trials that are more or less easy to win, not to mention a hint of strategy.

The public, the only winner of this game

In a castle located one hour from Paris, the fifty candidates will have to live together.

They were invited there by the owner, a lion, who puts in play a kitty of 50,000 euros.

But the first peculiarity of this program is that the players do not compete to win the bet but to win it for one of the viewers.

As soon as the program is launched, the public will be invited to download a free application through which they can join the “support club” of one of the fifty personalities.

If she is eliminated or she disappoints the fans, they can change teams.

The most important thing is to follow the right person at the beginning of the final week, when registrations are closed.

Thanks to a draw made before a bailiff, one of the supporters of the victorious personality will win the entire jackpot.

A ruthless arena

In a 650 m2 arena placed outside the castle, the players will be subjected daily to tests of precision, logic or eliminatory endurance.

“We have thought a lot about the principle of equity between players, it is absolutely necessary that viewers can support the candidate they like with as much chance.

The games will always be disconcertingly simple… Well, in principle,” laughs producer Florence Fayard.

At the end of the arena trials, the losers will be submitted to the votes of the victorious players who will have the possibility of saving one or more depending on the day.

Following this vote, those who have the least support from their classmates are definitively eliminated.

Their followers, meanwhile, must change clubs on the app.

Games that will bring back childhood memories

However, the arena is not the only place in which the candidates will have to undergo tests.

To increase the prize pool, players will have two types of challenges.

The first, the "Cap or not cap", will be a challenge that does not call for force.

It will take place in the lion's office and players will face a fox (not the real animal, a disguised person with a mask) through "extremely simple games that will remind you of things you may have seen in challenges on the Internet, camping or summer camp,” says the producer.

Finally, "The follies of the lion" will be used to increase the prize pool (or to lower it in the event of defeat) thanks to collective games.

“There will be an event every day so we impose a pressure rhythm, slips Florence Fayard.

It is a desire to have a permanent tension”.

“We wanted to break the existing codes”

With an arena as a central location and a lion as the master of the game,

Les Cinquante

is inspired by pop culture and in particular video games "because the battle royale rules the roost", specifies the producer.

But if the challenges will take an important part in the game, we must not forget that the very essence of reality TV consists in filming the candidates in their living environment.

"We can fail at all the games but if we are smart, we can still be there at the end thanks to alliances", remarks Florence Fayard.

“We wanted to break the existing codes on which we go around in circles on the classic reality series, she continues.

Players must put themselves in danger daily by passing games and creating alliances.

They are not in a big villa lounging around a swimming pool”.

By bringing together exes among the candidates, there is no doubt that the altercations will punctuate the game just as much as the tests.

And because we are in the context of a reality show, there will still be a swimming pool.
