American actor Timothée Chalamet, 26, doesn't think much of social media.

"Today, being young means being judged harshly," the New York native said at a press briefing during the Venice International Film Festival.

It is hard to live in this time.

"I feel like the end of society is near.

That's why films are important.

It's the artist's job to bring awareness to what's going on," Chalamet said.

The actor presented Luca Guadagnino's cannibal romantic drama Bones And All in Venice over the weekend.

Six years ago, Chalamet had already made the film adaptation of the novel “Call Me By Your Name” with the Italian director, which earned him an Oscar nomination.

In Venice, however, he made an impression not only with his acting talent and criticism of social media.

The fashion-forward rising star also caught the eye with a metallic red, backless halterneck top from designer Haider Ackermann's women's collection, which she wore to the red carpet at the film festival.
