At the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, the autumn salmon auction was held on the morning of the 3rd for the first time in three years, and the highest price was nearly 14,000 yen per kilogram.

On the morning of the 3rd, at the Central Wholesale Market in Sapporo City, autumn salmon from Hidaka, which were caught by fixed net fishing on the 2nd, were lined up, and the first auction was held this year.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the autumn salmon auction was not held twice in a row until last year, and will be held for the first time in three years.

When 2.4 tons of fall salmon weighing from 2kg to 5kg arrived, and the auction began with a lively slogan, the brokers wrote their bid prices on their bills and bid down one after another.

The highest price is 13,999 yen per kilogram, which is about 1.4 times higher than the highest price three years ago.

Tetsuya Tojo, the manager of a fresh fish store that won the highest bid, said, "I felt that autumn had finally begun after the first auction of autumn salmon. I got it," he said.
