China News Service, Beijing, September 3 (Reporter Li Jingze) The "Blue Book of Cultural Trade: China International Cultural Trade Development Report (2022)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") released on the 3rd pointed out that in 2021, China's film trade will gradually change from the new crown. After recovering from the impact of the pneumonia epidemic, the role of the film trade should be brought into full play to achieve the goal of becoming a film power.

The report shows that in 2021, foreign cultural trade will recover rapidly, and both import and export trade volume will increase significantly.

According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, in 2021, China's foreign cultural products import and export trade will show a trend of continuous increase, and the year-on-year growth rate of both import and export will reach about 40%.

In the context of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, China's foreign cultural products import and export trade has achieved good results.

According to the report, China's film trade will gradually recover from the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in 2021.

In the future, China should give full play to the role of film trade, expand the domestic market, give full play to the role of film trade in stabilizing the market and preventing risks, and solidly enhance the influence of Chinese films in the online and digital space, so as to achieve the goal of becoming a film power.

The report believes that the development of the new crown pneumonia epidemic is still subject to great uncertainty. Under this influence, the film market in the online and digital space has opportunities for sustainable development.

As an emerging media channel platform, digital streaming media can accommodate a greater diversity of global films, so non-English-language films have the opportunity to enter the international market.

Chinese films are a very important part of non-English films and should seize this opportunity to enhance their international influence.

According to the report, in 2021, with the expansion of the global game market, the growth rate of foreign trade in Chinese game culture will slow down.

There are three main problems: a single type of game, lack of diversified products to attract overseas players; shortage of high-quality game products, lack of high-level products with international influence; low game literacy, lack of in-depth research on overseas game ecology.

In this regard, the report recommends promoting game research and providing scientific research support for game culture foreign trade from an academic perspective.

At the same time, promote industrial innovation and provide high-quality products for foreign trade of game culture from the perspective of production.

Encourage the creation of artistic games and experimental games, explore the depth and breadth of game expression through the innovation of game mechanics and game ideas, attract overseas independent game players, and further enhance the effectiveness of Chinese game culture foreign trade products.

The report is jointly released by the Foreign Cultural Exchange (Cultural Trade) Research Base, the Service Trade Professional Committee of the China International Trade Association, the National Cultural Trade Academic Research Platform and other units and the Social Sciences Literature Publishing House.
