The proportion of permanent residents aged 60 and above exceeded 20% for the first time

  The report shows that in 2021, the aging of Beijing's population will further deepen, and Beijing will officially enter a moderately aging society.

  According to the report, by the end of 2021, the resident population of Beijing aged 60 and above was 4.416 million, accounting for 20.18% of the total resident population; an increase of 117,000 over 2020.

  Among them, there are 3.883 million registered population aged 60 and above, accounting for 27.5% of the total registered population; 2.792 million registered population aged 65 and above, accounting for 19.8% of the total registered population.

  According to international standards, when the proportion of the population aged 60 and above is between 20% and 30%, or the proportion of the population aged 65 and above is between 14% and 20%, it means that the region has entered a moderately aging society.

In 2021, the proportion of permanent residents aged 60 and above in Beijing will exceed 20% for the first time, and the proportion of permanent residents aged 65 and above will exceed 14% for the first time, indicating that Beijing has entered a moderately aging society.

Older people continue to increase

  The report shows that Beijing has a registered population of 643,000 people aged 80 and above, accounting for 4.5% of the total registered population, an increase of 10,000 people or 1.6% over 2020.

There are 1,417 centenarians in the registered population.

  The average life expectancy of Beijing residents with household registration is 82.47 years.

  Among the registered population aged 60 and above, there are 1.836 million males and 2.047 million females, with a sex ratio of 89.7.

In the past three years (2019-2021), the sex ratio of the elderly population has continued to decline, from 90.6 to 89.7. The quantitative advantage of female elderly in the elderly population has become more and more obvious, and the continuous decline in the gender ratio of the elderly is even greater. From 82.4 to 77.4, indicating that with age, the gender difference of the elderly is more significant, and the life expectancy of female elderly is longer.

The rate of aging in the central city is higher than that in the suburbs

  The report shows that among the 16 districts in Beijing, Chaoyang District, Haidian District and Fengtai District have the top three permanent residents aged 60 and above, with 728,000, 609,000 and 496,000 respectively.

Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, and Shijingshan District ranked the top three in terms of aging population aged 60 and above, accounting for 27.0%, 26.9%, and 25.1%, respectively.

Compared with 2020, the resident elderly population in the central urban area increased by 84,000, or 3.5%; the resident elderly population in the suburbs increased by 33,000, or 1.7%.

The old-age dependency ratio continues to rise

  According to the report, calculated based on the working-age registered population aged 15 to 59 supporting the registered population aged 60 and above, the old-age dependency coefficient in Beijing was 47.3%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points over the previous year, which means that every 2.1 registered laborers in Beijing are supporting them. 1 elderly person; calculated on the basis of the working-age household registration population aged 15-64 supporting the household registration population aged 65 and above, the old-age dependency coefficient was 30.0%, an increase of 1.7 percentage points over the previous year.

Overall, the growth rate of the old-age dependency coefficient is higher than that of the children's dependency coefficient.

Improve the integration of medical care and elderly care services

  The report shows that in 2021, Beijing will successively issue more than 30 elderly-related policies, including the "Notice on the Standardization of the Construction of Beijing Community Elderly Health Services" and "Beijing Elderly Service Time Bank Implementation Plan (Trial)", involving elderly care services, health All aspects and links of aging work, such as services, medical care combined with classified security, and the overall level of institutionalization and standardization of aging work have been further improved.

At the same time, continue to increase pensions for retirees, basic pensions for urban and rural residents, and welfare pensions, benefiting more than 4 million people in the city, and increase the policy preference for retirees who retire early, with long continuous working years and years of contribution, so that more Enjoy the fruits of social development.

  Beijing has continuously improved the level of medical care and elderly health services, explored and promoted the construction of home care beds, and built a total of 3,500 home care beds.

  Beijing has issued a list of basic elderly care services for the elderly in urban and rural areas, the incapacitated, demented, elderly, disabled elderly, mentally demented elderly, and severely disabled elderly in Beijing's household registration subsistence allowances and low-income families. Eight categories of service objects, including the elderly from families with special birth, and all the elderly, are sorted and classified according to the basic elderly care service items stipulated by the current policy, and the basic elderly care public service items for the elderly are further defined accurately.

  In addition, Beijing has comprehensively promoted the construction of an elderly-friendly society, strengthened the prevention and control of the epidemic in the elderly, increased the publicity of vaccination for the elderly, and actively guided the elderly to receive the new crown vaccine.

Carry out epidemic prevention and mental health publicity, and relieve the anxiety caused by the epidemic to the elderly through various forms such as hotlines, brochures, and psychological lectures.

Improve the construction of the nearest precision elderly care service system

  The report pointed out that 2022 is a critical year for the in-depth implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan".

Beijing focuses on the needs of the elderly, and integrates the concept of active aging and healthy aging into the entire process of economic and social development in the capital.

  This year, Beijing will fully implement the national strategy to actively respond to population aging, formulate and issue the "Implementation Opinions on Strengthening the Capital's Aging Work in the New Era"; improve the elderly health service system, and expand medical care for the elderly on the basis of making every effort to prevent and control the new crown epidemic. The combination of nursing care and palliative care services will be provided, 200 more palliative care beds will be added, and the pilot program of direct settlement for cross-province medical treatment in different places will be accelerated.

  Beijing will improve the construction of the nearby precision elderly care service system, and actively explore the "property service + elderly care service" home and community elderly care model.

At the same time, to build an elderly-friendly society, at least 1,000 elevators will be installed in old buildings, and 2,000 elderly families with difficulties will be retrofitted for aging.

  Beijing will promote the social participation of the elderly, increase the development of human resources for healthy and young elderly, and improve the quality of cultural, sports and educational services for the elderly.

At the same time, vigorously develop the aging industry and promote the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industry for the elderly.
