Private jets are successful.

A bit too much for some.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne called on the owners of these planes "to participate in the reduction of greenhouse gases" last weekend.

“Behaviours will have to change”, for his part estimated the Minister Delegate for Transport, Clément Beaune, on France 2.

Because for the moment, the sobriety plan seems far from the concerns of this sector which broke records this summer, reports BFMTV.

Indeed, Paris airports recorded a 43% increase in private jet flights in July 2020 compared to July 2019. An increase that even reached 37% in London and 73% in Amsterdam.

More and more followers

On average, the number of flights in private jets increased by 30% in Europe, compared to 2019. More generally, the number of people who traveled by jet for the first time increased by 40% in 2022.

Yet the prices for these flights keep rising due to soaring fuel and the lack of available planes.

For example, the price of a private flight between Paris and Mykonos (Greece) has doubled in one year, indicates BFMTV.

Business leaders and wealthy American tourists are the main users of this tailor-made service.

The environmental impact of these journeys does not seem to slow them down.
