In order to ensure the pork market supply during the holidays, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments to release government pork reserves in batches from September, and guide local governments to jointly release the reserves.
At the same time, pay close attention to market dynamics and maintain the normal order of the market.

In early July, the National Development and Reform Commission also held a special meeting on ensuring supply and price stability in the live pig market.
The meeting pointed out that effective measures such as reserve adjustment and supply and demand adjustment will be taken in a timely manner to prevent the rapid rise of live pig prices, maintain normal market order, and promote the long-term healthy development of the industry.

How the pork price will trend in the future will also be responded to by many departments.
Fu Linghui, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics and director of the National Economic Comprehensive Statistics Department, said at a press conference on the operation of the national economy in July held by the State Council Information Office on August 15 that pork prices do not meet the conditions for a sharp rise.
"Although the price of pork has risen rapidly recently, the production capacity of live pigs is generally at a reasonable level at present. In addition, the market regulation and guidance are strengthened, which is conducive to stabilizing the relationship between supply and demand. It is unlikely that the price of pork will rise sharply." Fu Linghui said.
Chen Guanghua, head of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, also said at an earlier press conference on the operation of the agricultural and rural economy in the first half of the year held by the State Council Information Office that since late June, pig prices have experienced a wave of rises, and as of late July the fall back.
In general, this round of pig price increases is mainly due to restorative and seasonal increases, superimposed by some special factors, but production is sufficient, and pig prices do not have the motivation to continue to rise sharply in the later period.
"At present, the production capacity of live pigs is at a normal and reasonable level, and it is expected that the number of live pigs released in the second half of the year will be comparable to the same period last year." Chen Guanghua introduced that in the next step, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will focus on three aspects.
The first is to strengthen monitoring and early warning, keep an eye on key indicators such as the inventory of reproductive sows, and take targeted adjustment measures in a timely manner according to monthly changes to keep the production capacity of live pigs stable within a reasonable range.
Strengthen information release, guide farms (households) to rationally arrange production, release fat pigs according to the trend, and avoid excessive slaughtering.
The second is to consolidate territorial responsibilities.
Carry out assessments on the regulation of live pig production capacity, urge local governments to implement the provincial overall responsibility requirement and the "vegetable basket" mayor responsibility system, stabilize and implement long-term support policies, and give the industry a stable policy expectation.
The third is to prevent pig diseases.
Continue to do a good job in the normalized prevention and control of African swine fever, coordinate the prevention and control of common diseases such as swine epidemic diarrhea, and continuously improve the biosecurity management level of pig farms to ensure that the epidemic situation is stable and does not rebound.
