China News Agency, Beijing, August 24 (Reporter Chen Su) Affected by high temperature and dry weather, there have been many wildfires in southern China recently.

The reporter learned from the State Forestry and Grassland Administration of China (National Forestry and Grassland Administration) on the 24th that in order to strengthen the prevention of wildfires, on the 22nd, the Office of the Leading Group for the Forest Chief System of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration issued an emergency notice, requiring further strengthening of forests under extreme high temperature weather. Grassland fire prevention work requires all localities to issue the strictest fire bans.

The notice pointed out that recently, affected by extreme climates such as continuous high temperature and drought, mountain fires have occurred one after another in Chongqing, Sichuan and other places, and there are concentrated outbreaks, and the situation of forest fire prevention and control is extremely serious.

The State Forestry and Grassland Administration attaches great importance to it and requires forest managers at all levels to effectively do a good job in forest fire prevention in the region, and scientifically and effectively respond to the challenges of high-risk fire weather.

  The notice proposes three measures:

First, we must strictly manage wildfires and resolutely curb the occurrence of man-made fires.

Forest chiefs at all levels must take the initiative to take the initiative and perform their duties with due diligence, issue the strictest fire ban, and focus on the prevention and control of "man-made fires".

For key areas and mountain crossings, set up checkpoints and mark the front; take targeted control measures for sacrificial sacrifices, production, and agricultural use of fire.

Second, it is necessary to immediately carry out the investigation and rectification of fire risks, focusing on high-risk points and enterprises such as power transmission and distribution lines, production and operation units in the forest, and strengthen supervision and inspection to ensure that various fire prevention and control measures are in place.

Forest and grass management units at all levels should increase the frequency and density of patrolling and protecting forests, and timely discover and eliminate fire hazards.

Third, we must strictly implement the fire protection on-duty and other systems. The forest and grass fire prevention departments at all levels must strictly implement the 24-hour on-duty and leadership-led on-duty system, and reasonably arrange the on-duty personnel to ensure that fire must be reported, dispatched in a timely manner, and reported quickly.

All localities should strengthen the centralized garrison and emergency mobilization management of grass-roots fire-fighting teams to achieve early detection and early disposal of fires; strengthen personnel training on fire-fighting and emergency risk avoidance, and resolutely prevent fire-fighting personnel from safety accidents.
