Regarding the vaccination of the new coronavirus, we requested the government to build a database that allows groups made up of victims of drug damage to evaluate the efficacy and safety.

August 24th is the day when a monument was erected in front of the entrance of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare 23 years ago.

On this day, a group made up of victims of drug-induced AIDS cases and drug-induced hepatitis problems visited the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and submitted a request to Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Kato in front of the monument.

The request states that the government should build a database that can evaluate the efficacy and safety of vaccines for the new coronavirus by linking vaccination records and medical information.

In the discussion that followed, the person in charge of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare indicated a policy to build a database of vaccinations, including the new coronavirus vaccine, by FY2025.

Jyugo Hanai, a victim of the drug-induced AIDS case and representative of the National Liaison Council for Drug-induced Affected Organizations, said at a press conference after the request, "I made the request with an awareness of whether it would be possible to protect the safety of the public. I would like to keep an eye on whether the database will function properly," he said.
