Some 2,500 environmental activists are expected from Thursday in Grenoble for their Summer Days, according to the organizers, after a "catastrophic summer" in environmental matters, which according to them signed a "flagrant delict of lack of anticipation" from the government. .

“We will have about as many people as last year in Poitiers.

It's a nice surprise, ”said Marine Tondelier, member of the management of EELV in charge of the organization of these Summer Days scheduled until Saturday on the Grenoble campus, during a press briefing on Wednesday.

“This is a special edition because we are going to have the joy of celebrating 23 ecologist parliamentarians in the National Assembly”, she underlined.

"Activists want to discover and listen to those they don't know yet and it's always a great moment," she noted.

Among the guests at the podium will be the chairman of the Ukrainian Green Party Vitalyi Kononov who will lead a workshop on Ukraine, she announced.

Plenary sessions will be devoted to the "return" of ecology to the National Assembly, to Europe, to the climate emergency but also to "the Nupes of all battles", in the presence of elected representatives from the 3 other parties. coalition members.

The government in the sights

The national secretary of EELV Julien Bayou for his part considered that the government was "caught in the act of lack of anticipation".

“This summer (…) has materialized the inequalities” with in particular the ultra-rich who “free themselves from any constraint”, according to him.

Asked about the congress scheduled for December, during which Marine Tondelier could seek his succession, he said he did not have "the feeling that we are still in the big maneuvers".

The congress does not appear on the program of the discussions of the Summer Days even if informal discussions can take place on the sidelines of the sessions, noted Ms. Tondelier.
