In order to popularize the My Number Card, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is aiming to introduce a new system that allows municipalities to independently award points when they acquire the card.

Regarding the My Number Card, there is a ``Minor Point 2nd'' where you can receive points worth up to 20,000 yen in total by acquiring the card and registering as a health insurance card, but as of the 22nd. The grant rate remains at about 47%.

For this reason, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will aim to introduce a new system called "Municipal Minor Points" that allows municipalities to give points, apart from the national government, and explained at the Liberal Democratic Party meeting on the 24th.

In the municipality that conducted the model project last year, there were cases where points were given when the card was acquired for a child born, or when the person who acquired it participated in an event sponsored by the local government.

If the new system is introduced, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will support local governments in building systems and matching with payment operators, and will include the necessary costs in the budget request for next fiscal year.
