China launches a satellite into space to provide remote sensing services

China today successfully launched a satellite into space, which will be mainly used to provide remote sensing services in the fields of land resource management, agricultural resource survey, environmental monitoring and urban applications.

The Chinese news agency "Xinhua" reported that the "Beijing-3B" satellite was launched aboard a "Long March-2D" carrier rocket from north China's Shanxi Province and succeeded in entering the planned orbit.
