After seven years of absence, the emblematic culinary show "Masterchef" returns to the small screen.

Small facelift for the game show: "Masterchef" is making a comeback this time on the public service, with a new presenter and above all in a new format, more benevolent and eco-responsible.

New channel, new jury, new host, new format… The Masterchef program has had a makeover.

After seven years of absence, the famous culinary competition returns to our televisions.

Broadcast from Tuesday evening on France 2, the program is in tune with its time.

A more benevolent and responsible program

At the presentation, it is Agathe Lecaron, the current presenter of the Maison des Maternelles, who replaces Sandrine Quétier to launch and time the events.

The jury is made up of faces known to former fans: we find Yves Camdeborde, already present in previous seasons, but also Georgiana Viou, finalist of the first edition of the show.

Fans of cooking shows will also recognize Thierry Marx, former jury of the competing show "Top Chef".

The biggest change will be visible from the first broadcast: the end of the candidate pre-selection phase during which a hundred people competed on the chiseling of an onion.

Only 18 candidates will be in the race initially, before the final selection.

Only nine will remain to compete in the next show.

The game focuses on eco-responsibility

In tune with the times, the game relies on the eco-responsibility of seasonal products, bulk food with a composter in a corner of the kitchen and several challenges such as making a dish without producing waste.

Finally, "Masterchef" will have less competitive spirit and more benevolence.

The role of the jury is of course to rank the candidates, but also to teach them the right techniques.

At stake this year, a check for 100,000 euros and the title of best amateur cook in France.
