Several SR managers were called to an information meeting on Tuesday morning.

A message was then sent out on SR's intranet announcing that program director Björn Löfdahl is leaving his position and will be replaced by UR's CEO Sofia Wadensjö Karén as of February 2023.

- In Sofia Wadensjö Karén, Sveriges Radio gets a new program director with an exciting background and an external perspective.

Sofia is a very knowledgeable and committed leader with a proven passion for good journalism and with a drive and an ability to achieve change that few possess.

I am so happy that she now chooses to come to us at Sveriges Radio.

She will be a superb force in our company management and a perfect new program director to have by my side, says CEO Cilla Benkö.

Löfdahl continues at SR

Björn Löfdahl continues in his role as deputy CEO at Sveriges Radio.

During the autumn of 2022, in addition to being program director, he will, among other things, be responsible for reorganizing the management of the program unit at Sveriges Radio.

Björn Löfdahl started working at SR in 1989 and has previously been manager of several local channels.

In 2007, he became program director for the radio's production and thus also a member of Sveriges Radio's management group.

In 2009, he was appointed program director over both production and program orders.

Sofia Wadensjö Karén took over as CEO of Utbildningsradion in 2018. She has previously been chairman of Utgivarna, editor-in-chief of the magazine Vi and has worked at Aftonbladet.

Kulturnyheterna is looking for SR and UR.
