Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 22nd that 2743 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
It was the fourth-highest number of new cases in a single day and the highest ever for a Monday.
A total of 175,957 people were confirmed to be infected in Nara Prefecture.
Three deaths have also been announced, bringing the total number of deaths in Nara to 452.
There are 14 serious cases, unchanged from the 21st.
