Two people were injured in a gunshot in a shopping center in the southern Swedish city of Malmo on Friday.

The suspected shooter was arrested, police said.

No further information was given about the person or the motive for the shots.

"We believe the immediate danger is over," a police spokeswoman said.

According to the health authorities, the injured were a man and a woman.

The condition of the woman is serious, it said.

Local media, citing eyewitnesses, reported that a man shot people indiscriminately at the Emporia shopping mall.

This was not confirmed by the police.

In July, three people were killed in a gun attack in a shopping center in the Danish capital Copenhagen, which is around 30 kilometers from Malmo.
