Entering the exhibition hall of the Summer Palace pretending to be a theater, against the backdrop of the vermilion golden pillars and the golden shimmering Hexi colored paintings, the paintings depicting the four seasons of the Summer Palace glow with warmth and splendor.

The four seasons landscape paintings of the Summer Palace in winter, spring, summer and autumn in sequence show the beauty of the four seasons of the garden.

It is understood that the theme of this exhibition is the four seasons landscape of the Summer Palace, and it is divided into four sections: "Yihe Winter Fun", "Spring and Jingming", "Lotus Pond Summer Shadow" and "Autumn Bridge".

In addition, Dai Ze's wonderful flower sketches are presented in the exhibition, supplemented by documents and historical images related to the exhibition theme, the artist's creation or life.

The exhibits in this exhibition were first created in the 1940s, and the exhibits have been created for nearly 70 years.

Among them, the Chinese painting titled "Spring of Yihe" was recreated by Dai Ze at the age of 92, based on the sketches of the 1970s.

The core exhibit in the exhibition hall is "Portrait of Cixi", which is huge in size and stands out among many landscape works.

Qin Lei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Summer Palace, introduced that the "Portrait of Cixi" in this exhibition is an oil painting copied by Dai Ze in 1979.

The original is a 1905 oil painting by Dutch painter Huashi Huber for the Empress Dowager Cixi in the Qing Dynasty. In the painting, Cixi is sitting on the throne, wearing a golden longevity robe, a scarf with longevity inlaid around her neck, and a jade head. Butterfly, earrings and bead pendants, holding a peony fan, wearing a gold finger guard.

It is recorded in the garden history archives: Cixi's oil paintings moved south to Nanjing in 1933 together with the Forbidden City cultural relics, and returned to the north in 1949.

During the turbulent years, the portrait was damp and yellowed, and the canvas was loose and wrinkled in many places, which needed to be repaired urgently.

For the needs of the exhibition, the garden commissioned Dai Ze, who was an oil painting teacher at the Central Academy of Fine Arts at the time, to copy a large-scale work, and the original portrait was properly preserved.

It is understood that in order to cooperate with the exhibition, the Summer Palace and Dai Ze Art Studio will jointly hold a number of aesthetic education popularization activities to inherit Dai Ze's concept of art education.

On the first day of the exhibition, Ningbo, a young painter and student of Dai Ze, taught Chinese painting techniques to young tourists visiting the exhibition.

During the exhibition, art historians, art critics and aesthetic education experts will also bring special lectures and academic live broadcasts to the public.

This exhibition is hosted by the Summer Palace, and jointly organized by Beijing Royal Garden Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, Dai Ze Art Studio and Dai Ze Art Fund.

The exhibition period is from August 18th to October 9th, and it is closed on Mondays (except statutory holidays).
