China News Service, Jilin, August 19 (Reporter Shi Hongyu) The reporter learned from the Jilin City Public Security Bureau on the 19th that the local police successfully eliminated the danger of explosives in a scenic area.

The explosive is a long-standing defensive mine, containing 2.72 kg of TNT explosive, with the explosive power of 77 grenades.

The Jilin City Public Security Bureau received an alarm early on the 17th. An explosive was found at the construction site of the local Zhuqueshan Scenic Area. The special police detachment immediately started the EOD work and disposal plan, and the technical team EOD team rushed to the scene.

After the EOD team arrived at the scene, they quickly carried out investigation and set up a warning area to prevent tourists and other personnel from approaching.

It has been confirmed that the explosive is an American M1A1 chariot defense mine, with a total weight of 4.72 kg, a thickness of 101.5 mm, a maximum diameter of 203 mm, and a charge of 2.72 kg of TNT in the body.

"Because of the age, the three pressure springs of the mine have been corroded and gone, and they are in a state of firing, and there is a danger of explosion at any time." The EOD team said.

According to the police, the amount of ammunition of the mine is equivalent to 77 grenades, which is relatively rare in the history of EOD in the national police circle.

If an explosion occurs, buildings, mountains and people within a radius of 200 meters will suffer destructive damage.

Restricted by the topography of the mountain, the site was restricted by professional equipment such as EOD robots, and EOD team members could only work with their bare hands.

The two EOD team cooperated with each other, and after nearly an hour of meticulous excavation, the mine was finally excavated from the roots and soil.

The EOD team used glass glue to fuse the mine. After 40 minutes of operation, the mine fuze was successfully fixed.

On the afternoon of the same day, three members of the EOD team cooperated, one to explore the road ahead, one to hold the mine in his hand, and one to escort the mine.
