At about 9:00 on August 19, the reporter saw on Binjiang Avenue, Fuling District, Chongqing City, that the mountain fire on the other side was still burning, and multiple helicopters were fetching water from the Yangtze River to carry out rescue work.
On the morning of August 19, Chongqing Daily announced that at 18:00 on August 17, a mountain fire broke out next to the third group of Muying Villas in Ejingguan Village, Lizhi Street, Fuling District.
At 20:00 on the same day, a mountain fire broke out diagonally opposite Yaoli Town, Dianyi Community, Jiangbei Street, Fuling District.
After the rescue forces at the city and district levels worked hard to put out the fire, the two open fires were basically extinguished in the afternoon of the 18th.
The fire caused no casualties and did not pose a threat to residential areas and important facilities and equipment.
On the evening of August 18, affected by unfavorable meteorological conditions such as dry and flammable vegetation, high combustible load and strong wind in the forest caused by the continuous high temperature, the two fire sites reignited and spread to varying degrees.
At present, the rescue and disposal work is being carried out vigorously and orderly, and the cause of the fire and re-ignition is under further investigation.
