The Karsltad-based gaming group Embracer group is growing and making a series of new acquisitions, with an initial purchase price of SEK 6 billion.

The company announces this in connection with its interim report.

Among the purchases are Limited run games, Singtrix, Tuxedo labs and Tripwire interactive.

Most notable is the purchase of Middle earth enterprises that own the global rights to "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit".

This means that Embracer now owns the rights to movies, computer games, board games, merchandise, theme parks and plays based on Tolkien's works.

Large catalog

With the purchase, the Embracer group expands an already extensive catalog.

The group previously includes THQ Nordic, Koch media and Coffee stain and owns the rights to many games.

Among others "Saints row", "Tomb raider" and "Borderlands".
