  • Alicia Vicente, Head of Operations at Clikalia: "The command and command is over"

Practical, kind, vigorous, determined and with cereals running through her veins, this is Susana Entero, who quickly adds: "It seems that in all that time I have only done this, but in between

I have had three children, aged 15, 12 and 7,

the most important part."

He has time for more things: on Tuesdays and Thursdays he trains basketball and on Sundays he plays a game.

"I need it for the coconut,"

she says, though now she's thinking about giving it up.

"I'm turning years and physically it shows. Also", she says with humor, "this season I've played with girls from 20 to 26 years old and when we go out for a drink they talk about things that make me feel like I'm their mother".

In the company and on the field

We use this sport, basketball, to analyze Susana Entero's behavior not only on the court, but also in the company, as the leader of a great team.

Does she act as a referee or as a player?

A question to which she answers without hesitation:

"Clearly a player, I am one to roll up my sleeves."

Although it is inevitable, there are times when he has to referee -"more than that, give a little direction", he points out- and think about the members of the team.

Who would leave on the bench?

"To people who are not loyal,

who do not go to the front, do not commit or are transparent. You have to say what is happening, without fear of speaking."

Communication first

Talking is one of the verbs that Susana Entero uses the most.

And the one that he puts into practice the most in the office.

"I talk to everyone,

from the directors to the girl who cleans in the evenings,

and I talk to everyone the same way," she says.

An attitude that leads her to exercise leadership based on two pillars: transparency and communication.

"I am like that, open, I communicate. I like to say things that are good and focus on what we could do better, and work a lot on opportunities, not problems.

'How are you' is very important

for people to feel part of something", emphasizes this senior manager, who does not have an office: "Today I sit next to the nutrition expert, tomorrow the intern, the other an area director...".

leader for all

A form of leadership that is different from the traditional one and that works like a glove for Susana Entero:

"It's something very natural:

what I do at work I do at home, and what I do at home I do on the basketball court I behave the same in one place as in another, for better and for worse."

In addition, Susana Entero is

very aware of her employees,

organizing snacks and breakfasts with them, opinion polls to assess their level of commitment, action plans...

This naturalness may be one of the skills that women are supposed to have, who make up more than 50% of the company's management committee in Spain.

A condition that has never caused problems for this directive:

"It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, you have to get the results they ask for."

question of priorities

However, she has met women who have set limits for themselves in their careers: "I go to work early, at 7, and leave at 5 in the afternoon, because I have other priorities at that time: picking up my children and take them to their activities.

Does that mean that I am a worse professional? No.

To those women I say: we come to do a job and give some results, you have to organize yourself but there are other priorities in life, and life is hard what lasts".

In the European part of the company there is a commitment to reach 50% women by 2023, which in Spain is already fulfilled.

That happens now, but before, says Susana, "in the forums of the big associations, if you put on a colored suit, they located you right away because

they could attack women with the fingers of one hand."

To finish, we want to know who prepares breakfast at Susana Entero's house.

"It depends. During the week my husband, because I leave earlier. But it's easy:

cereal mixed with milk, yogurt, banana...".

A house in which, of course, they are oblivious to the controversy that arose a few years ago about this food and to which the directive takes iron away.

"More than potholes," he says, "these are

trends that come and go in nutrition.

But we have everything, health or flavor, with or without sugar."
