As the spread of the new coronavirus continued, many people who wanted to be tested visited the venue in Kochi City where they could receive antigen tests for free.

On the 16th, Kochi Prefecture issued a "declaration to strengthen measures against BA.5" and called for strengthening infection control, saying that the medical care system is under pressure due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

Under these circumstances, more than 20 people were lined up in the morning at the temporary testing site in front of JR Kochi Station, where antigen tests can be taken free of charge.

A man in his 40s from Kochi City said, "I once again felt that the situation, including the medical system, was severe. I strongly felt that each individual must be aware and act."

In addition, a woman in her 30s who returned from Tokyo said, "I'm going to meet her grandmother, so I want to take thorough infection control measures."

As the infection continues to spread, Kochi Prefecture has decided to extend the period for setting up this inspection site, which was originally set to be until the 18th, until the end of this month.
