On August 15th, Mofu opened, and the high temperature and heat mode in Sichuan continued.

On the same day, the temperature in Quxian County, Dazhou City soared to 43.5°C, tying the record for the highest temperature in Sichuan history. The temperature in Jianyang, Chengdu also reached 43°C, the highest in Chengdu.

On the first day of Mofu, how hot was Sichuan with full firepower?

Data to witness!

Record-breaking temperatures in 41 county stations in one day

In this "protracted war" of high temperature, breaking records has become "everyday".

The reporter learned from the Sichuan Climate Center that on August 15, among the 156 national reference stations in the province, 41 county stations broke the historical record of a single station in the county. 16 county stations are "new faces".

These 16 county stations are mostly concentrated in the northeastern part of the basin, namely Quxian, Guang'an, Gaoxian, Pingchang, Anyue, Linshui, Xuanhan, Shehong, Kaijiang, Lezhi, Pengxi, Wangcang, Yibin, Tongjiang, Cangxi and Jiangyou.

It is worth mentioning that on August 15, the highest temperature in Quxian County reached 43.5 °C. The previous highest local temperature appeared on August 15, 2006, which was 42.7 °C. This time it directly exceeded 0.8 °C.

Although this is the first time that Quxian has broken the high temperature record this year, it would be amazing if it is not broken. This first time not only refreshed the historical extreme value of the site, but also tied the record for the highest temperature in Sichuan history.

Chengdu Jianyang is a "regular visitor" on the record-breaking list.

The previous record for the highest temperature at Jianyang Station was 40.3°C on August 12, 2006. On July 6 this year, this record was refreshed for the first time. After that, on July 15, August 9, August 10, From August 12th to August 15th, the heat reached new heights one after another. On August 15th, the Jianyang fever reached a new record of 43.0°C.

Chengdu has no artificial rainfall conditions yet

As far as Chengdu is concerned, it is almost a "collective record-breaking".

According to data released by the Chengdu Meteorological Observatory, before the arrival of this round of high temperature, Chengdu Jianyang, Xindu, Shuangliu, Pengzhou, Chongzhou, and Dujiangyan had reached record highs in the round of high temperature from early to mid-July.

During this round of high temperature, except for Pujiang and Dujiangyan, the highest temperatures in other districts, cities and counties in Chengdu have set new historical records.

In addition to Jianyang, Jintang and Longquanyi also exceeded the 40°C mark, and Wenjiang exceeded 38°C for the first time.

Everyone is looking forward to a rain to "relieve the fever", but if the gods don't cooperate, is it okay to artificially increase the rain?

The Chengdu Meteorological Observatory said that artificial precipitation does have a certain effect on alleviating high temperature, but artificial precipitation does not mean that it can be increased if you want, and it is necessary to turn "clouds into rain" at the right time.

  There are two key conditions for artificial precipitation: first, there should be clouds in the sky, there should be enough water in the clouds, and the cloud layer should be at least 2 kilometers thick, and there should be enough updrafts;

According to the Chengdu Meteorological Observatory, judging from the meteorological conditions during this period, most parts of Chengdu have less cloud cover, thinner cloud layers, and less water vapor content in the clouds, which cannot meet the operating conditions of artificial rainfall.

Artificial precipitation can only be carried out if there is a "rain cloud cluster" that does not affect aviation safety.
