The end of the beans.

Because of the historic drought in France this summer, losses in vegetable production are estimated "between 25% and 35%", according to Jacques Rouchaussé, president of Légumes de France, interviewed by Franceinfo.

And who says drop in yield, says “perhaps an increase” in the price in stores, but especially farmers in pain.

"When we see the combination of increases in loads, drought, we have an accumulation which makes producers wonder if they will continue to produce tomorrow or not", continues Jacques Rouchaussé.

For him, if the government wants to guarantee the food sovereignty of the country, it will have to put "the hand in the wallet to help the producers to pass this difficult course", calls the president of Légumes de France who also asks for aid, at this that current water restrictions "be better suited" to farmers.
