Recently, a piece of wasteland near the entrance of Nayangtun Village, Dongting Village, Beisi Town, Heshan City, Laibin City, Guangxi Province ignited flames, but heavy rain failed to extinguish the fire.

After this "strange phenomenon" was spread on the Internet, people were curious and came to watch it.

On August 15, the reporter saw at the scene that in order to avoid accidents, the relevant departments of Beisi Town had surrounded the "fire in the wasteland" with cement bricks.

The fence is about 3 meters high, and a warning message "Don't approach danger! Do not climb!" is posted on the wall.

"Wildland fires" do not occur naturally, but are ignited by local authorities in order to dispose of flammable gases.

Over the past few days, the above-mentioned wasteland has suddenly emerged with a pungent "swamp gas" smell, and the villagers living nearby can smell a strong pungent odor.

Because the unknown gas is very pungent, the surrounding residents cannot sleep at night.

Heshan Ecological Environment Bureau of Laibin City and relevant departments went to the site to investigate and found that gas was emitting from the surface.

Therefore, the bureau hired a third-party company to monitor the unidentified gas and found that the main components of the gas were hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, non-methane total hydrocarbons, methane and other combustible gases, and decided to use an open flame to dispose of it.

According to reports, the survey found that the combustion flame is not large, and it can be judged that the gas stock is small, and it can return to normal after the gas is burned out.

In 2007, the same thing happened in Guyitun, Dongting Village, and it returned to normal after the same technical treatment.

Heshan City is rich in mineral resources and is known as the "Coal Capital" of Guangxi because of its rich coal production.
