Born in France to Senegalese parents, Halimata was excised at the age of 5.

Her story is that of many other women, who seek to forge an identity, between traditional education.

She tells her story in a documentary on Arte.

Today, we are talking about a documentary broadcast by the Franco-German channel ARTE

.

Written with four hands, “To our excised bodies” follows the journey of Halimata Fofana, a young Franco-Senegalese woman.

Excised at the age of 5, Halimata published a novel, 

Mariama l'écorchée vive, 

in which we find many elements of her autobiography.

With director Anne Richard, she co-signs this documentary in which she tells how this mutilation outrages the body and soul of women.
