Violent thunderstorms will hit this Friday afternoon in the south-east of France.
Météo France has placed Aude, Tarn, Aveyron, Hérault, Gard, Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône and Var on orange alert.
Hérault and Gard are also on rain flood alert.
Between Aude and Aveyron, the institute warns that they will be accompanied by strong electrical activity, hailstorms and heavy accumulations of precipitation ranging locally from 20 to 50 mm in less than an hour.
“Gusts of wind around 70 to 90 km / h may occur”, adds Météo-France.
These thunderstorms are expected to subside overnight.
