On the afternoon of the 16th, at a beach in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, an elementary school boy was swept away by the sea and disappeared, and his grandfather, who tried to help him, was also unconscious.

According to the police, after 2:00 pm on the 16th, an 8-year-old boy who was swimming at Kashiwazaki Chuo Beach in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture was swept away, and his grandfather, who went to rescue him, went into the sea and soon became unable to move.



His grandfather was picked up by a nearby person and taken to the hospital, but he is said to be unconscious and in critical condition.



Meanwhile, the boy who was swept away has not yet been rescued, and police, firefighters and the Japan Coast Guard are continuing to search for him.



According to the police, the boy was in the third grade of elementary school and was visiting his grandfather who lives in Kashiwazaki City from Saitama Prefecture, and on the 16th, it seems that he and his older sister came to the beach.



According to Kashiwazaki City, lifeguards were patrolling the beach until the 15th according to the swimming season, but no lifeguards were dispatched from the 16th.
