Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya City announced on the 15th that a total of 1,189 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 161,363 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
The prefecture also announced eight new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the prefecture to 348.
