The trial between rapper Bushido, whose real name is Anis Ferchichi, and his former manager, Arafat Abou-Chaker, has reached a possible turning point on the 77th day of the trial.

In the course of the process, the "Stern" was leaked a tape that is said to be the recording of a factual meeting on January 18, 2018 between the musician and his manager.

If the tape is real, it could undermine Bushido's allegations and thus exonerate Abou-Chaker and his three brothers who are also accused.

However, Bushido and his lawyer doubt that the two-hour recording is the full conversation.

The tape in question was played in full on Monday in front of the Berlin district court.

An interpreter translated the Arabic passages for the trial participants.

Due to the poor quality, however, this took some time, so that a planned statement by Bushido about the recording was largely postponed until the next day of the trial.

The musician should then make more detailed statements about the recording and explain why he doubts its authenticity.

During the brief questioning that took place on Monday, Bushido, who had come without his lawyer, seemed confident.

He had “done his homework” and prepared himself well.

The trial will continue on Wednesday before the Berlin district court.
