European of the week: Robert Golob, in Slovenia

This liberal, a newcomer to politics, won in the legislative elections on Sunday April 24, 2022 against outgoing Prime Minister Janez Jansa.

In this small nation of 2 million inhabitants from the former Yugoslavia, which joined the European Union in 2004, the Slovenes flocked to the polls throughout the day to choose their deputies.

A one-round ballot, against the backdrop of a sling against the action of the government, disputed for months in the street.

At 55,

Robert Golob

presented himself as the candidate for change, democracy and attachment to the European Union.
