Editor's note:

Every Chinese who works hard to live is the most beautiful struggler.

It is precisely because of hundreds of millions of strugglers that China is today.

For ten years, pay tribute to every struggle of you.

Let us work together to forge ahead in the new era, and work hard towards the future.

Li Xianyun is an associate research librarian at the Zhangjiakou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Hebei Province. He has been engaged in the protection of cultural relics for nearly 20 years. He led a team to investigate and study nearly 300 ancient buildings and collected more than 20,000 characters of mural documents.

After the Spring Festival in 2022, he led the survey team to Zhuolu County, Hebei Province. Zhuolu County has a long history, and there are many cultural relics and historic sites in the county. There are 149 ancient buildings such as temples and theaters in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

There are a large number of murals in these ancient buildings, many of which are seriously damaged because of the age.

The task of Li Xianyun and his team is to take photos, measure and clean these murals, analyze the cause of damage, and prepare for future maintenance.

Li Xianyun is currently the leader of the rural revitalization task force of Zhangjiakou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism in Dongyaogou Village. He hopes to use the protection of ancient murals as a breakthrough to explore local cultural resources and provide cultural support for the vigorous development of rural tourism.
