  Since July, Chongqing has experienced two rounds of large-scale persistent high temperature and little rain.

According to the "Chongqing Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan", the Chongqing Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters issued a yellow warning for drought disasters at 15:00 on August 9, and initiated the city's level IV emergency response to drought.

According to the Chongqing Emergency Response Bureau, it is expected that by mid-August, Chongqing will continue to maintain a wide range of high-intensity high-temperature weather, which can reach 42°C to 44°C locally. The city's people and livestock have difficulty drinking water and the scope of crops affected by drought will be further expanded. Water may drop sharply and cannot be effectively replenished, and the impact of high temperature heat damage and drought will be further exacerbated.

At present, 22 districts and counties in Chongqing are slightly lacking in moisture content, 8 districts and counties are moderately lacking in moisture content, and 3 districts and counties in Fengjie, Wuxi and Wushan are severely lacking in moisture content.

The Chongqing Emergency Response Bureau dispatched a municipal-level professional emergency rescue team to connect with the relevant district and county emergency bureaus. Under the condition of ensuring on-duty readiness, it dispatched capable forces every day to participate in related work such as forest and grassland belt patrols and drought-fighting water delivery.

  In Pengshui County, Chongqing, affected by the continuous high temperature and dry weather, 39 townships and sub-districts in the county experienced varying degrees of difficulty in drinking water for humans and animals.

The Emergency Bureau of Pengshui County quickly organized more than 40 cadres and workers to form 5 drought-relief teams to deliver water to the affected people in the county to "quench their thirst".

Up to now, the Pengshui County Emergency Bureau has distributed a total of 44 pumps, more than 700 buckets, and more than 60 water bags, dispatched more than 20 fire trucks, and dispatched more than 80 emergency personnel, and transported more than 120 tons of domestic water. The villagers have difficulty drinking water.

  In Qijiang District, Chongqing, in order to cope with the disasters caused by high temperature weather, Qijiang District implemented artificial weather modification operations for the drought in Dingshan Town, Dongxi Town and other streets and towns, and launched a total of 15 rockets, effectively alleviating the drought.

25 drought-relief teams were dispatched to find 2 new water sources, and a total of 4,750 meters of pipelines were laid to ensure the safety of drinking water and agricultural production in the streets and towns affected by the drought.

  In Shizhu County, Chongqing, affected by high temperature and extreme weather, some towns in the county experienced water shortages to varying degrees.

The Shizhu County Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Office, in accordance with the principle of "living first, then production, and then ecology", organized all townships to do their best to supply and dispatch domestic water.

Since late July, 6 towns including Shizhushi Township, Zhongyi Township, Huangshui Town, Qiaotou Town, Mawu Town and Lengshui Town have launched emergency water delivery measures, and organized drought-relief water trucks to deliver about 3,000 cubic meters of drinking water to the villagers. meters, effectively alleviating the water difficulties of nearly 80,000 residents and ensuring normal life.
