On August 13, the 2022 8th China Mercy and Filial Piety Cultural Festival was held in Hangzhou.
At the opening ceremony, the participating leaders presented awards to the ten annual Chinese filial piety figures/groups.
Among them, Fang Shugong, secretary-general of Beijing Shifangyuan Public Welfare Foundation and executive director of China Life Care Association, has received widespread attention for his efforts in caring and comforting the dying.
It is understood that in 2011, Fang Shugong and more than 300 volunteers jointly initiated the establishment of the "Beijing Shifangyuan Spiritual Care Center for the Elderly". In 2015, he and 212 sponsors registered and established the Beijing Shifangyuan Charity Foundation.
The public welfare activities that Fang Shugong focuses on are aimed at organizing volunteers to provide professional spiritual care services, so that the elderly can walk the final journey of life in peace and tranquility.
