On the 12th, it will be 44 years since Shuichi Ichikawa and Rumiko Masumoto were abducted by North Korea.

In Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, families handed out flyers near the site and called for information.

On August 12, 1978, Shuichi Ichikawa and Rumiko Masumoto were abducted by North Korea from Fukiagehama in Hioki City.

On the 12th, the 44th anniversary of the incident, a life-size panel of Mr. Ichikawa and Mr. Masumoto was placed near the crime scene, and Mr. Ichikawa's older brother Kenichi handed out flyers with photographs of their faces along with about 50 police officers. I called for information.

Mr. Kenichi said to the drivers of passing cars, "Please continue to be interested in the abduction issue. If you have any good information, please let me know."

Last year and last year, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, it was held only by police officers, but this year Kenichi also participated for the first time in three years.

Kenichi said, "It's been a long time, 44 years, but I'd like to at least hear from you that I'll see my brother as soon as possible while I'm still healthy. The most scary thing is that this problem will fade away. I will continue to call out until everyone returns, so please don't forget the abduction issue."
