The family has made the decision to shortly remove Heche from life-sustaining treatment, after doctors have decided whether her organs can be donated.

"It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is receiving life-sustaining treatment to determine if any organs are viable," says a representative from the family.

The representative thanks the hospital and the doctors and writes:

“Anne had a big heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit.

She will be remembered for her brave honesty and be greatly missed.”

Anne Heche has appeared in a number of television series as well as films such as "Six days and seven nights", "Donnie Brasco" and "Wag the dog".

She appeared in the television soap "Another world" between 1987 and 1991. In her autobiography from 2001, she addressed her problems with mental illness.
