Recently, in Yunhe County and Jingning County, Lishui, Zhejiang, there have been consecutive incidents of citizens encountering Chinese pangolins on the road.

In early August this year, Mr. Lei, a road maintenance worker, found a pangolin on a mountainside road in Yunhe County, and immediately took it back to the animal and plant protection station of the forestry department of Yunhe County for rescue.

Coincidentally, in July, Mr. Lei, an employee of Jingning County Electric Power Company, also encountered a Chinese pangolin when he drove by the mountain road around Baishanzu Park (Jingning area) of Qianjiangyuan-Baishanzu National Park (Jingning area) at night.

Mr. Lei and his colleagues drove the car behind the pangolin to illuminate it and escorted it down the mountain safely.

It is understood that the Chinese pangolin is a national first-class protected animal, and the wild population of the Chinese pangolin is currently on the verge of extinction.

Recently, Chinese pangolins have been continuously found around the Baishanzu Park, indicating that there may be a wild population of Chinese pangolins in the park.
