Zhang Guimei, the winner of the "July 1st Medal", took root in the impoverished mountainous areas of Yunnan for more than 40 years. She promoted the establishment of China's first free girls' high school, helped thousands of girls get out of the mountains, changed their fate, and touched countless Chinese people.
The play "Teacher Guimei" created by the Yunnan Provincial Drama Theater vividly establishes the image of Teacher Zhang Guimei on the stage with a solid script, superb interpretation and vivid details.
The play was written by the famous screenwriter Wang Baoshe, directed by Wang Baoshe and Chang Hao, and starred by Li Hongmei, the vice chairman of the Yunnan Dramatists Association and a national first-class actor. It will premiere in Kunming, Yunnan in June 2021.
After this round of tour, the play has completed more than 40 performances.
