Oita Prefecture announced on the 11th that 2,143 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
It's the largest number of Thursday announcements to date.
In addition, the death of three people who were recuperating in the prefecture was also announced.
A total of 113,263 people were confirmed infected in Oita Prefecture, and 208 died.
