A Lebanese lover of bees..takes care of them like his children

picture

The beginning of the acquaintance of Mohamed Abdel Salam and the beehive was a rocky start in 2010, when he bumped into a beehive with his father.

Abd al-Salam avoided bee stings, but was terrified of these tiny creatures.

After more than 11 years, he has his own apiary that contains more than 100 cells, and produces about a ton of honey annually.

Abdul Salam, who was wearing a protective suit against bee stings, added that he takes care of his bees as well as his children, and that one of his best moments is when he carries a jar full of honey, after working hard for a whole season.

Abdel Salam said he was generally satisfied with this year's harvest, but he remains concerned about his sales amid the financial meltdown in Lebanon and the effects of climate change on his products.

But despite his concerns about the consequences of the weather on beekeeping and the honey industry, Abdul Salam, who is not yet married, said he would give his future children information about bees from a very young age.
