Under the blue sky and white clouds, several white yurts are rooted in the Tengger Desert. This is the home of Baier, a herdsman in Temowula Gacha, Tengger Eris Town, Alxa League Shuangjingtan Ecological Migration Demonstration Area, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In front of the yurt, the two white spherical observatories are even more eye-catching.

Baier said that as more and more tourists come to the desert to watch the stars with telescopes in recent years, he has been thinking about building an observatory in the desert at home.

In April of this year, Bayer cooperated with the Hunan Astronomical Association, each investing 500,000 yuan to build two observatories.

At present, the civil engineering of the observatory has been completed, and it is equipped with a professional deep-sky photography telescope system and popular science telescope, which can photograph deep-sky objects and observe the movement of celestial bodies such as the sun, moon, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies.

The observatory is located in the hinterland of the Tengger Desert, which is vast and sparsely populated, far away from cities, with less light pollution, dry climate, more sunny days, less water vapor, and no pollution.

Compared with other places, it has an excellent night sky environment, and the stars are brighter, which is especially conducive to shooting and observing the stars.

Baier said that he hoped that through astronomical observation, children could know the constellations in the sky and cultivate their interest in astronomy from an early age.
