On August 9, the opening site of Qinhuangdao West Port was green and grassy, and the water and sky were the same color. The port museum, sailing yacht marina, railway flower sea and other attractions here have become new check-in places for people's leisure and entertainment.
Here, the public can not only learn about the century-old development history of Qinhuangdao Port, but also experience the ecological benefits of the former energy port transformed into a green coastline.
It is understood that in 1898, Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty approved the opening of a port in Qinhuangdao, and Qinhuangdao Port came into being. It has a history of more than 120 years.
In 2013, the coal transportation terminal in the west port area of Qinhuangdao Port was officially closed, and the century-old terminal embarked on a new journey of transformation and development.
Through comprehensive development and renovation of the surrounding area, the local area is dedicated to creating a new characteristic park that combines industry and fashion, and blends history and modernity on the basis of retaining a large number of original modern industrial heritage buildings.
