The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the evening of August 8 that people arriving in Hong Kong from overseas or from Taiwan, China from August 12 will be quarantined in the "3+4" mode, and the "Easy to Return to Hong Kong" or "Easy to Hong Kong" plan will be used. Those arriving from the Mainland or Macau will not be affected and will continue to be exempted from compulsory quarantine (i.e. the zero-day compulsory quarantine period).

For other people who arrive in Hong Kong from the Mainland or Macau under the "Return to Hong Kong" or "Easy to Hong Kong" plan, their compulsory home quarantine period will be adjusted to 3 nights accordingly, and they will monitor themselves for 4 nights starting from the third day of arrival.

During the self-monitoring period, they must measure their body temperature twice a day and conduct mandatory nucleic acid testing as required. During this period, the "vaccine passport" and "yellow code" do not apply.
