From October, the burden of additional medical expenses added to patients who use their My Number card as a health insurance card will be reduced.

Regarding the use of the My Number card as a health insurance card, since April this year, medical fees have been added to medical institutions that have introduced a special machine to read the card, and 30% of the cost has been paid. Patients have incurred an additional medical expense burden of up to 21 yen at the first visit, and there are calls for a review.



Under these circumstances, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare proposed and approved a plan to reduce the additional medical expenses from October at the general meeting of the Chuikyo = Central Social Insurance Medical Council held on the 10th.



Regarding the additional medical expenses incurred when visiting a medical institution that accepts the health insurance card of the My Number Card, it will be reduced from 21 yen to 6 yen when using the health insurance card of the My Number Card. When using , it will be raised from 9 yen to 12 yen.



The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has announced a policy to require medical institutions and other institutions to install special machines from next fiscal year.
