It is clarified that e-commerce platforms should improve transaction rules, strengthen the supervision of the sales activities of boxed mooncakes on the platform, focus on supervision of high-priced mooncakes and operators on the platform that provide customized services, and urge the operators on the platform to strictly implement the national mandatory standards.

The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held an online publicity meeting to interpret the mandatory standards for moon cake packaging. More than 10,000 moon cake and packaging companies participated in the meeting.

The Ministry of Commerce organized policy publicity and implementation to 13 industry associations and 33 leading enterprises in the production, sales and distribution of moon cakes, and conveyed the spirit of the "Announcement" to key retail enterprises and e-commerce platforms.

Production enterprises shall, in accordance with the requirements of the "Announcement", standardize production and operation behaviors and actively organize production.

Six industry associations including the China Chamber of Commerce issued the Proposal for Rejecting the Circulation of "Highly Priced" Mooncakes and Promoting the Healthy Development of the Market, advocating standardized operation of circulation enterprises.

Representatives of major e-commerce platforms, China Hotel Association, China Hotel Supplies Association and some hotels launched the initiative to "restrict excessive packaging and promote green consumption".

  In the next step, the four departments will cooperate closely, strengthen information sharing, and jointly implement the "Announcement".

The national development and reform, industry and informatization, and commerce departments will conscientiously organize market inspections and monitoring, comprehensively understand market dynamics, grasp emerging new situations and new problems, and promptly hand over clues to violations of laws and regulations to market supervision departments.

The market supervision department will focus on production enterprises, high-end hotels and restaurants, and e-commerce platforms to carry out supervision, and will strictly investigate and deal with violations of laws and regulations when they find them. The website and the national enterprise credit information publicity system shall be publicized.
