According to Chiba Prefecture, the man had symptoms of a rash since the 6th of this month. I was diagnosed with monkeypox.
The man went directly from the airport to a medical institution in the prefecture to collect a sample, and as a result of an examination by the prefecture's health laboratory, the infection was confirmed on the 10th.
The man is currently hospitalized at a medical institution in the prefecture, and his symptoms are stable.
According to the prefecture, the risk of the infection spreading within the country is extremely low because men have no movement other than airports and medical institutions and no contact with other people after entering the country.
From now on, the prefecture will share information with quarantine stations and medical institutions, and will cooperate with the national government to investigate whether there are any contacts on the plane and the route of infection.
