Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for Russian-American humanitarian relations Steven Seagal is working on a documentary film about the events in Donbass.

The day before, the actor visited the DPR as part of an international group of experts and journalists and talked with prisoners of war in the Yelenovsky pre-trial detention center, which was targeted by Ukrainian armed forces on the night of July 29.

More than 50 people became its victims, about 70 more were injured of varying severity.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, noted that the idea to make a film is based on the actor’s desire to show people around the world the truth about what is happening and change their view of this conflict.

“At the meeting, Stephen noted that 98% of those who talk about the conflict in the media have never been here.

Therefore, the world does not know the truth, ”Pushilin wrote in his Telegram channel.

In turn, TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov clarified that when visiting SIZO No. 120, Seagal talked with prisoners from the Azov battalion * and the 36th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Solovyov, the actor "personally got acquainted with the evidence, including fragments of American missiles, which confirm the involvement of Kyiv in the massacre of its own military."

Footage from the trip has also been released.

According to the press service of the LDPR, international experts and journalists from Germany, Italy, France, Serbia, Nicaragua and North Korea also visited the frontline zone in the south of the DPR.

It is noted that they also had the opportunity to talk with the Azov prisoners who survived after the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“A fairly representative mission.

And we hope that its objective conclusions will help the world open its eyes to the duplicity, lies and crimes of the Ukrofascist authorities in Kyiv in the month remaining before the ministerial week at the session of the UN General Assembly,” said the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky.

Meanwhile, Elena Drapeko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, said that parliamentarians would support Seagal's idea.

According to her, the actor can receive state funding for the project.

“I think there is already enough material for this (documentary. -

Great films are already being made, and not just one.

Therefore, we hope that there will be a good movie.

And if you need help, some kind of assistance from the State Duma, we will certainly provide it.

The Seagal team can legally apply to the Ministry of Culture and the Cinema Fund and receive funding for their project, ”Gazeta.ru quotes Drapeko as saying.

The deputy added that in order to receive state support, Seagal needs to defend his project before the ministerial council.
